Mr. Melvin H. Brown, age 88, of Campbellsburg, passed away Saturday, November 8 at his residence. Mr. Brown was born March 23, 1937 in Frankfort, KY to William U. Brown and Vivian B McQuillen Brown. He was a retired truck driver for Koetter Trucking.

Nearly two weeks after Indiana’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits lapsed, the Washington County Food Bank is feeling the impact both in the number of families seeking assistance and in the generosity of the community stepping up to help.

Carletta Jo McKinney, age 74 of Salem, Indiana passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, in her residence. Born October 18, 1951 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Carl H. Benham and Jessie L. (Wilson) Benham.

Mrs. Lynn Maudlin, age 57, of Pekin, passed away Thursday, November 6 at Hillcrest Village. Mrs. Maudlin was born September 8, 1968, in West Virginia, the daughter of Bertie and Thelma Bailey Butcher.

Terry Brooks, age 72 of Pekin, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in his home. Born July 3,1953, in Corbin, Kentucky, he was the son of Charles Brooks, Sr. and Louise (Payne) Brooks.

Mitchell "Mitch" Keith Davis, age 43, of Salem, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025 at his residence. Born November 12, 1981 in Jeffersonville, he was the son of Monty Reisinger and Nancy (Shepherd) Reisinger.

Carolyn Maxine Potter, age 85 of Salem, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025, in her residence. Born April 26, 1940 in Salem, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late John and Nora (Lockhart) Reinhardt.
