New Covenant Church in Campbellsburg will welcome the community for a free Thanksgiving meal on Sunday, Nov. 30. The day begins with a short Bible study at 9:30 a.m., followed by coffee and cookies. The morning service will take place at 10:45 a.m., with the Thanksgiving meal served at noon.

Washington County has recently gained a new Blessing Box! One of many in the county, this new box is located in the Salem Community Park on Parkview Drive.

Marcia (Kopp) Vickers, age 61, of Salem, passed away on November 23, 2025 at her residence. Marcia was born on December 17, 1963 in Salem, Indiana to the late Edgar Kopp Jr. and Margaret (Strange) Kopp. She was a caretaker at Hoosier Uplands and Older Americans.

Wanda L. Terrell, age 80, of Pekin, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her residence. Born December 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Ezra Fleming and Sara Bell Potter.

The Washington County Family YMCA (WCFYMCA) has plenty to offer. A more recent addition to the YMCA is the Rock Steady Boxing class. This class is designed for people diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in order to help them regain balance and control.

Lisa’s Little Dream Farm Sanctuary in Hardinsburg is gathering supplies to help elderly and disabled residents care for their animals this season. Donation boxes labeled “Donate to Animals in Need” have been placed at several locations in Washington and Orange counties.

Minnie Wilson, age 85, of Pekin, passed away Wednesday, November 19 at Salem Crossing surrounded by family. Mrs. Wilson was born July 21, 1940, in Pineville, Kentucky, the daughter of Speed and Sarah Maiden Crawford. She was a retired CNA for Salem Crossing.

The STEAM lab at Salem Schools is continuing to improve and grow thanks to a grant from the Indiana Department of Education. This is the fourth STEM grant the school corporation has received from the state. With funds being cut by 50%, the grant this year totalled $24,985.

Once a year, FFA members from across the nation gather in Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention; one of the largest student conventions in the country. It’s a time for members to meet others who share the same passion for agriculture, leadership and personal growth.

The West Washington Jr./Sr. High School Drama Department is bringing one of Agatha Christie’s most famous mysteries to the stage this weekend with three performances of And Then There Were None.

Patricia "Patty" Nasco, 57, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Patty had resided in a residential home with CRF Inc. in Connersville, and previously lived with her foster mother, Mary Cook, and her family through Blue River Services.
