Salem Communty Schools receives $25,000 STEM grant
The STEAM lab at Salem Schools is continuing to improve and grow thanks to a grant from the Indiana Department of Education. This is the fourth STEM grant the school corporation has received from the state. With funds being cut by 50%, the grant this year totalled $24,985.

"When JAG disappears, so do opportunities" - SHS Newspaper & Digital Media Class
JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) has been very influential for students at Salem High School. Tara Kritzer has been working for JAG at SHS since the school introduced it in 2024. Due to budget cuts by the Indiana State Legislature this year, the JAG program will be defunded almost completely. Roughly 85% of JAG funding has been cut, and because of this, JAG will not be able to continue after the first semester at SHS.

Free Art Supply Library Opens at Salem Middle School
A new way to inspire creativity is now open to the public in Salem, thanks to the efforts of middle school art teacher Gwendolyn Dowling and her students.
