On Saturday, May 24, Eastern High School celebrated this year's graduates with the 2025 graduation ceremony! There were smiles as far as the eye could see, and an enormous amount of support for the graduates from family and friends.

It was a week to remember for West Washington High School senior Silas Batt. On Thursday, May 22, the 18-year-old pulled off a feat most golfers only dream of—hitting a hole-in-one at the Western Hills Country Club. The very next day, he walked across the stage to receive his high school diploma.

Salem Choir and Musical Theatre students present their year-end concert this Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 pm in the Trueblood Performing Arts Center on the campus of Salem Middle School.

Sectional News: On Sunday, May 4, the IHSAA released the sectional pairings for both baseball and softball. For baseball, all three county schools will begin their tourney trek on the road this year while the Lady Lions and Musketeers travel and the Senators host for softball.

Written by Morgan Humphrey, SHS Newspaper Class. Have you ever noticed teachers wearing red on Wednesdays at Salem Schools and wondered why? The red stands for Red for Ed, an education movement hoping to bring to light some of the challenges public schools face in Indiana.

The middle school recently received a grant from the Washington County Community Foundation to build an outside literature lounge. With the grant, they bought language arts teachers sets of books for their classrooms to read outside. They also got outdoor furniture, so that it can feel like an outdoor classroom.

On Monday, April 14, Salem High School was greeted with a brand new press box, but it did not arrive without a few delays. The press box, which was supposed to arrive at around 10:30 in the morning, did not arrive at the school until 4:00 PM due to various setbacks such as the delivery truck breaking down while en route.
