Charley Barger, age 100 of Salem, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, in his residence.

The small town of Hardinsburg came alive this past Friday evening, July 11, as the Hardinsburg General Store hosted its third annual Summer Festival. This summer festival has quickly grown into one of Washington County’s most popular summer traditions.

Donnie Ray Hacker, age 70 of Pekin, Indiana passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:25 am, in Salem Crossing Salem, Indiana.

On July 15 at 12:28 pm, Salem emergency responders received a call regarding a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Hackberry and Anson Street. Upon arrival, the wrecked motorcycle could be seen on its side with the bloodied driver on the ground nearby.

We encountered a very angry wizard the moment we arrived at the Great Wolf Lodge. While we were in line to pick up wands for Isaiah and Isaac to play the MagiQuest game (basically a wizard-themed scavenger hunt), a short, round, balding, middle-aged man—wearing a goofy wizard outfit—was throwing a full-blown temper tantrum.

Lyvonne St. Clair, age 64, of Scottsburg, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Born March 7, 1961 in Hazard, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Amy (Campbell) Collins. On December 21, 2019, she married Chris St. Clair who survives.
